What I love most about what I do: This is a two part answer for me. When working with our pet owners, I love to educate them about anything they may not know about so they can be informed and therefore be the best pet owners to their beloved furry family members. I like to discuss anything from simple questions about intestinal worms to complicated and difficult anesthesia questions. When behind the scenes, I enjoy every aspect of nursing care. My favorite tasks, that I take very seriously, are anesthesia and dentistry.
Who I am when I'm not at Davis Animal Hospital: My family and I enjoy playing outdoors at the park, the beach, kayaking, swimming, running around splash pads (or sprinklers!), and relaxing in the sun. We love get-togethers with family and friends while watching the kids grow up. I enjoy gardening and, although I'm not very good at it, I really like carpentry.
You would be surprised to know that: Although I am vegetarian, I cook and provide meat to my family. My husband says I make the best ever marinated chicken and vegetable kabobs. I'll take his word for it!
Owned by: A cat named Tom who was rescued by Melissa after running into a drain on Davis Highway; and a lab/whippet mix named Huck who was rescued by Cara after being hit by a car on Hwy 90. And a beagle named Copper.
What I love most about what I do: I love helping sick patients get better and recover from life-threatening illnesses. I love providing nursing care.
Who I am when I'm not at Davis Animal Hospital: I am a loving mom and wife. I love my son Hudson, and husband Chris, more than anything.
You would be surprised to know that: I have an identical twin who works in the medical field as well.
In the field since: 2006 with some breaks for school and 2-legged babies.
Owned by: My very first bottle baby: Rocky - 12 year old tabby cat; Maggie Mae - 9 year old lab mixed rescued by Julie in Milton at 3 days old; Titan - 7 year old Boxer who thinks he's a lap dog
What I love most about my job: I love the nursing aspect of my job. Our pets can't tell us what's wrong with them so I really enjoy being apart of the diagnostic process and then doing whatever needs to be done to make them feel better. It's important to me to make the pets (and owners) feel loved and respected.
Who am I when I'm not at Davis Animal Hospital? I'm a Navy wife and mother to 2 of the most beautiful and smartest girls in the world! (Ok! Maybe I'm a little partial but they're pretty spectacular!) I love hiking and traveling every chance I get - which isn't often with 4 year olds!
You wold be surprised to know that: I am so proud to have been a part of Davis Animal Hospital from the beginning! I was here peeling down old wallpaper when Davis Animal Hospital first opened in 2012, before the Navy moved us away. 6 years later we're back and I'm so excited to be a part of this amazing family again!
