APRIL - HOSPITAL DIRECTOR, OWNER

In the field since: 2003

Owned by: Soldier, a huge wild thing found roaming the woods as well as a pet momma to many furbaby angels.

What I love most about what I do:  The Pets, The Clients, Our Team! The Pets: I've got a soft spot for the big dogs. I also love working with dogs that may be scared or act aggressive when coming to the vet's office - with the right handling it is rewarding to watch them learn to trust us. I love educating people on the importance of preventative medicine, so much of the heartache we see could have been prevented but people simply did not have the information that they needed to do so. The Clients: I like working with people in challenging situations to find the best solution.  I love getting to know the people that come through our doors! We have some of the most fascinating and heartwarming clients and I have immensely enjoyed the privilege of getting to know everyone over the last decade (it’s hard to believe Davis is already 10!). Our Team: As we get ready to open up a new facility that I have poured my heart into the last few years I am brimming with excitement for what we are going to be able to offer not only the pets and people of Pensacola but also what we are going to be able to do for our team. Our team is made up of huge hearted individuals that give everything they have to this profession. This new facility is designed to give them a larger facility that they can practice medicine to its fullest with lots of added bonus features designed just for them. I am so proud and humbled to lead them and I hope that I am able to continue to improve and enrich their lives as they have done for me.

Who I am when I'm not at Davis Animal Hospital: a New Hampshire native, a fun-loving wife and mom to two kids. I love camping, gardening, paddleboarding, riding horses, goofing off, and spending time with my family. Together we enjoy the outdoors and traveling to find new adventures. We love our church, the beach, watersports, hiking and spending time visiting with our widespread family. I'm an avid fitness geek and passionate about our Davis Fitness Challenge we sponsor for our staff each year (no excuses this year - our new facility has a staff fitness center!)

You would be surprised to know that: Coffee runs in my veins. You could win me over pretty easily with Mexican food and ice cream. I’ve taken up a unique hobby of trying to rear queen bees with a VSH trait for increasing our hives health. I love opossums and the color teal. I have more photos of my dog on my phone than anything else. I am more afraid of a kitten acting mean than a 180 pound snarling Rottie!

SAVANNAH - HOSPITAL MANAGER

In the field since: 2016

Owned by: A small zoo! I own 6 dogs, 2 cats, chickens, and some fish. Keep reading for the detailed roll call.

My babies are - Bane, the squish-faced Rottweiler. Mika, the trouble-making Husky. Molly, the sweet, wrinkly English Bulldog. Cotton, the loud-mouth Pomeranian. Sissy, the sweetest, old Dachshund mix you will ever meet. Monte, one of Sissy's scruffy pups. Pumpkin, the lazy, orange cat. Willow, the cuddly, grey tabby cat.

What I love most about what I do: I enjoy meeting new people and their fur babies. My favorite part is seeing someone add a new puppy or kitten to the family and watching that sweet baby grow with them (and us!). I love being a part of our clients’ lives; celebrating the good things and being able to be there for them in the harder times. I love being able to provide a safe, comfortable boarding facility for you to leave your babies at when they are unable to accompany you on your trip. However, the excitement your dog has when they know they are going home is unmatched! My goal is to always maintain a 5 star experience for our people at Davis, work through any problems along the way to the best of my ability, and being available for my team whenever needed.

Who I am when I'm not at Davis Animal Hospital: I am a wife, mother to an amazing daughter, and a keeper of our zoo. I enjoy reading most genres of books and have found a new love for reading on a Kindle. There is no greater feeling than a physical book in your hands or spending hours in a bookstore though! I like to hang out at the beach, or go tubing down the river. I enjoy family dinners and cookouts. I love to visit my hometown back in Tennessee. There is nothing like those rolling hills and country side! Days spent at home with no agenda are wonderful, especially if it is rainy.

You would be surprised to know that:  I am of the opinion that chocolate and mint do not go together. I am older than I appear. I would love to own a farm; highland cows would be my first addition. I have a strange love for cleaning. I enjoy the satisfaction of making something that is dirty, clean again. I could never own a spider as a pet.
